OPTIMIST STRAPS PACKS

 

No matter if you carry one or more boats or if you carry a trolley on top or not, DINGHY STRAPSTM will make life easier when it comes to securing your gear on the roof. Below are exmples of the most common optimist set-ups.

 

 

Common optimist set-ups:

Set-up for a single optimist:

Use SHORT straps.

If your racks are too short and you have to tie around the roof rack feet then the MEDIUM straps can be a better choice.

Set-up for one optimist with a trolley on top:

Use SHORT straps to secure the optimist.

To secure the trolley you can add a TROLLEY PACK (one SHORT strap in front and elastic chord straps around the trolley wheels.

If your racks are too short and you have to tie around the roof rack feet then the MEDIUM straps can be a better choice.

Standard set-up if you carry two optimists:

Use SHORT (or MEDIUM) straps for the first optimist LONG straps for the boat on top. Some people only use one set of straps to tie down both boats but we always recommend 2+2 straps for a safe tie-down.

Set-up for two optimists with a trolley on top:

Use SHORT (or MEDIUM) straps for the first optimist LONG straps for the boat on top. To secure the trolley, add a TROLLEY PACK (one LONG strap in front and elastic chord straps around the trolley wheels.

For extra protection of the boats edges, add neoprene edge protectors that fit onto the straps. Extra useful if you do not have a thick padded boat cover.
